If Texas Was A Neighborhood
This project served as my senior thesis project for my final year of undergraduate Industrial Design studies. "ITWAN" is an interactive travelling exhibit designed to encourage college students to be active in abortion politics through voting.

How can we design an interactive experience to alter the social attitude of young people on a controversial topic, abortion?

How do I get a historically low turn-out voter group to care?
Project Goals
It all started with a lot of ideas...

until it came down to just one.

The Central Idea?
Using the Home and Neighbors as a metaphor to connect with college kids who think the issue "Just doesn't apply to them."

6 houses. 6 factors.
Each house represents a different factor and is sized according to its impact on the people of Texas.
There's no "right" way to experience
The exhibit's circular configuration ensures that there is no right way to approach the experience, just circumnavigate at your own pace.

The exhibit approaches you
The height of each house is tall enough to be approachable, without being so tall as to be intimidating.

Flat-packable for easy and efficient assembly

Projections of trees, fading lights from the houses, and a neighborhood ambience combine for a symphony of experience.
Discover, interact, discuss with others.
Bring young adults into the conversation by inspiring empathy.
